I start this thread to report and compare G50v performance, and maybe help myself and others to troubleshoot/tweak this baby. I think this laptop has a lot more potential than we see
It seems possible to overclock only FSB/CPU using SetFSB software. Geforce clocks seem to stay the same, and laptop seems stable (several reboots and benchmarks using a 305Mhz FSB). Throttling is working (304<FSB<320), and CPU is switching to 900 MHz (FSB 150) on battery.

- Registry deframented and compacted (vista startup is waaaaaay faster thanks to this)
- Scheduled "on boot defrag" disabled
- 2nd level data cache set to 3MB (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\SecondLevelDataCache : c00
Performance Tweaks
- FSB : set to 305 MHz with SETFSB, clock generator ICS9LPR604AGLF
- CPU : 2870 MHz
- GPU : 705, Mem : 900, Shaders : 1800
Benchmarks
- 3dmark06 : 6578
- Aquamark 3 : 100377
- Complete reboot time : 103 seconds
Max temps (in 3dMark06)
- CPU : 65°C (43°C idle)
- GPU : 83°C (48°C idle)
